The Nursing Board of Canada is preparing to roll out a new online registration process for registered nurse programs in the province.

“The new system will be used to register nurses in nursing programs in rural and remote areas and will provide them with access to the online nurse registration and training programs,” said Nancy Braid, director of the board’s online registration and licensing program.

“We expect it to be a success, as registered nurses in rural areas can now take advantage of online nursing services, especially in remote areas.”

Nursing programs in remote and remote-situated areas already have a online registration system in place, but Braid said the new system is aimed at providing registered nurses access to all online training programs.

“The online registration program will enable nurses to take advantage for their own training,” said Braid.

“It’s the best way to learn about a program, and I think it’s a great solution for rural and rural-situation nursing.”

The online register will be available for nursing programs registered in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Quebec.

The program is expected to launch in early 2018.

The online program will be offered at the same level of convenience as registered nurse education programs, and the nurse will be able to sign up for the program from their own computer or mobile device.

The new registration system will provide registered nurses with the ability to get their registered nurse license online in a matter of seconds.

“It is an important step in establishing a registry and providing registered nurse nurses with online access to their registered nursing programs,” says Braid in a news release.

“Our hope is that this new system of registration will become the gold standard in online nursing for the province.”

Nurses who are interested in becoming registered nurses can complete an online application online or by phone at 1-800-662-7700.

Registered nurses can register for the online nursing registration program by calling 1-877-823-7800.
